KGM SsangYong Apprentice of the Year Nominee & Runner-Up: Jackson Hobbs

Jackson Hobbs, an enthusiastic young apprentice from Edencraft International, was nominated for the prestigious KGM SsangYong Apprentice of the Year award. His passion for boats and fishing began at an early age, having been introduced to the world of boating at just 3 or 4 years old. By the time Jackson was a teenager, he had his first boat, and his love for the marine industry only grew. He was introduced to Edencraft through school and, after a work placement there, knew it was where he wanted to start his career.

Throughout his apprenticeship, Jackson has honed a key skill—an eye for detail. While this was initially a challenge, he has now mastered it, ensuring that everything he does meets the highest standards. His adaptability shone when he transitioned from boat fit-ups to mechanics, quickly learning to tackle diagnostics and problem-solving in a new environment.

Jackson’s contributions to Edencraft have been invaluable. He played a key role in preparing boats for last year’s boat show, staying back with his team to ensure everything was ready. His passion and dedication to doing the best job possible make him a standout candidate for the award, and he looks forward to continuing his journey in the marine industry.
