Edencraft Escape to Tasmania 2025

Tasmania Like You’ve Never Seen It – The Edencraft Way

Every year, a convoy of Edencraft boats and owners make the journey across Bass Strait for a fishing mission that’s become the stuff of legend. What began as a casual trip has evolved into one of the most anticipated events on our calendar — a 10-day adventure exploring Tasmania’s most remote and iconic fishing grounds, all done in true Edencraft style.

Launching from Geelong, our journey started aboard the Spirit of Tasmania, where a fleet of 233s and 255s lined the lower deck. Trailers packed, radios charged, and game rods rigged — the mission was simple: find the fish, chase the good weather, and have a bloody good time doing it.

What makes this trip truly unique is the flexibility of having our boats on trailers. It allowed us to chase the bite across the state — from the southern cliffs of Maatsuyker Island to the untouched reefs around Flinders Island. Over 1,500km of driving and 10 straight days on the water meant we never missed a session. Every day was a new launch ramp, a new target species, and a new stretch of coastline to explore.

The fishing didn’t disappoint. In the first few hours of the trip, we had reports of a 204kg swordfish landed by one of our Tassie crews. Over the following days, we fished some of the most productive waters in the country — from Southern Bluefin chaos at Pedra Branca to back-to-back sword hook-ups at Eaglehawk Canyon. Our divers also got in on the action, pulling crays from the cracks and swimming amongst towering granite reefs.

But the trip is about more than just fishing. It’s about community. It’s about learning from each other, helping out at the ramp, swapping tackle, sharing laughs over a cold drink, and reflecting on the day’s highs and lows. New friendships were formed, and long-time mates reconnected — all brought together by a shared love of boating and the Edencraft brand.

Each night we debriefed over dinner, whether it was around the BBQ, at a local pub, or with the day’s catch on ice. Some nights were about stories and strategy; others were simply about kicking back and taking in where we were and what we were doing — living the dream.

This trip isn’t about chasing social likes or clocking miles. It’s about going further, fishing harder, and doing it all in comfort, safety, and style — something only an Edencraft can deliver. With 20+ boats in convoy and conditions that tested both crew and craft, every owner had the opportunity to see what their boat could really do — and came away with memories that’ll last a lifetime.

For those who’ve done it, it’s a trip you’ll never forget. And for those thinking about it… you’ll want to be on the next one.
